Monday 15th May was a momentous day, not just because of the garage build but because Graham the tiler appeared (note: Graham is not the total w***** who let us down so badly previously).
We did think that perhaps we wouldn’t let Graham go home until all the tiling had been done, but in a good sign at the end of day 1, he did leave all his tools on site, so we were fairly confident he would come back! And day 2 he came back with a second person, so progress was rapid, and by Thursday lunchtime after 5 months of waiting, the tiling has now all been done. There is now nothing to prevent all our plumbing and electrics being completed. Exciting times!
Whilst I didn’t spend so long watching exactly what Graham and Ronald were doing as the garage was occupying most of my time, I saw enough to know that a. it would have taken me about 3 weeks to lay the tiles b. I would have really struggled c. I would have hated working with the nasty cement based adhesive d. in quite a few places, it would have likely looked really rubbish (especially on a couple of my slightly dodgier stud walls!)
