Hallelujah!
Whilst rain hasn’t been pouring through the roof in the past weeks, with the protection of the membrane and the sarking, there were still areas where water could seep through. And at this time of year, with the temperatures as they are, there aren’t too many drying days. Big relief then that the slating is now totally complete.
The south side was completed about 3 weeks ago, but on the north side, we had to wait for 2 consecutive dry days so that the flat roof insulation could be done and the rubber covering glued on. Much to my relief, the roofers returned to site last week and yesterday the lead ridge was fitted.
Still a bit of the front part of the porch roof to be completed in the new year (where the rubber gutter sits), but the days of water leaking into the house should be over. Let the internal house drying process begin. Smiles all round.
Merry Christmas!
