Originally we’d thought that our house build would start in Summer 2020. It would always have been challenging, but once all building work was stopped in Scotland during the first lockdown, the timetable relaxed and we planned for 2021.
In the meantime, I discovered some old foam board in the shed and set about making a to-scale model of our house, complete with furniture. Never had (or wanted!) a doll’s house when I was little, but I love this one. And it’s been great for thinking about the different spaces, as well as showing people what we’re building. Most common question has been: “so is that where we’ll be staying when we come to stay, in the room with the round window?”
